“Why would anyone want to hire someone their CEO claimed was “replaced by AI”?”

I'm questioning my worth at getting another job at all. Everyone tells me how in demand my skills are but I hear the market is so bad and I just turned 40 so I'm afraid to even try.

It's just easier for now to live off one salary and try to rebuild my self-esteem. Why would anyone want to hire someone their CEO claimed was “replaced by AI”?
