If this is costing you more than a job.

The record counts what the search takes from people — savings, housing, health, the people around them. If it has taken more than that from you, everything below is real, and none of it costs anything to ask.

If tonight is the problem

If the money has run out

Most of the record is this: runway measured in weeks, arrears, savings gone. These are the official and non-profit routes, not lenders and not credit repair.

United States · benefits and bills

usa.gov/financial-hardship

The government’s own index of hardship programmes — food, unemployment, emergency housing, rent, and help with utility bills. One page, and it is where the real programmes are.

United States · mortgage and rent

Find a housing counselor

The CFPB’s search over HUD-approved agencies, by ZIP code. They advise on defaults, forbearance and foreclosure, often at little or no cost.

United States · credit cards and debt

nfcc.org

The National Foundation for Credit Counseling. A non-profit since 1951, with certified counsellors for credit card debt, budgeting and student loans. Ask what it costs before you start.

United Kingdom · debt and arrears

stepchange.org

A registered debt charity. In their words, the advice is always free and impartial — credit cards, mortgage arrears, rent arrears.

What this page is not

It is not advice. Saying where official help exists is a different thing from telling someone what to do about their debt, and this site does not do the second one — not about your career, and not about your money. Everything above is a door, not a recommendation.

The money list is United States and United Kingdom only, because those are the ones that could be checked properly. That is a limit, not a judgement about where the need is. For anywhere else, the helpline directory at the top does cover the world.

There is nothing to fill in here, no account, and nothing you type. None of these organisations are affiliated with this site and none of them asked to be listed.

Every detail was checked against each organisation’s own site on 7 September 2026. If something has changed, write to hello@stilllooking.co and it will be corrected the same day.

When you want it, the record is here.
