I’ve been lying to my parents and some of my family about the situation.

I can’t stand when people provide such generic responses when I tell them my situation: “The job market is tough.” “I’m sorry.” “You’ll find something soon.” Or how some people are oblivious to other people’s financial situation.

I feel this always happens to me; this is the 3rd time I’ve been laid off. 2nd time in product, while some people manage to get a job so easily and have NEVER ever been laid off. I feel like I can’t catch a break.

I’ve been lying to my parents and some of my family about the situation. I find sometimes it’s easier even though it’s hard to pretend everything is fine. So they don’t keep asking or pity me.
