“After the first year, I doubted I would get another role. Now I know my career is over.”

Joined a startup thinking it was going to be an amazing opportunity to build a team and do great work. It was their second startup, I knew folks from their first one and it all sounded great. Turned out it was just a hobby farm and they had no strategy. I was laid off with most of my team. We knew it was coming and the job market was bad. That was three years ago.

After the first year, I doubted I would get another role. Now I know my career is over. I’m doing some sub contracting and that’s enough to get by, but really sad that a career that I LOVED is over.
